CATECHISM MERIT AWARD CEREMONY 

The merit awards to our catechism children for their academic performance given which was held on 25th October 2019 at Abbasiya Malankara Catechism Center. The presence of Rev. Fr. Peter. P. Mathew, Vicar General of Apostolic Vicariate of the Northern Arabia was a great blessings.
Fr. Peter said that students ought to be determined, disciplined and dedicated in pursuit of success in life.
KMRM Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath, President Mr. Jacob Thomas and other officials was present during the ceremony.

October 3^rd ,2019 – St.Francis Assisi day was specially celebrated as “YOUTH DAY” .

Special Holy Qurbono was conducted on Thursday,3^rd October 2019 at Holy Family Cathedral - Virgin Mary Hall,Kuwait City. KMRM Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. John Thundiyath was the chief celebrant. Japamala Prayer, Kazchayarpanam ,Choir , nercha was initiated by MCYM members. Thanks to Mr.Lince John –MCYM Convener and Executives  for organizing the activities.

FAREWELL

A farewell meeting had been conducted after the Qurbono on 3^rd October 2019 at City Cathedral-Virgin Mary Hall and offered KMRM’s gratitude to Mr.Joby Johny, Arabia Matha Prayer Group, Ahmadi  towards their dedication to KMRM-Malankara Catholic community in Kuwait. During the occasion, a Memento presented to him by Rev Fr. John Thundiyath as a token of appreciation. KMRM Acting President & Treasurer Mr.Santhosh.P.Antony, and other officials was present.

GLOBAL MCA MEET- INDIA

The 23rd Global Malankara Catholic Association Meet was held on 19th September 2019 at Mar Theophilos Nagar, Girideepam School, Kottayam. In this meet, KMRM- Malankara Catholic Community -Kuwait ,distributed the Mar Baselios Vidyashree  Awards to the toppers of 10th Standard of each Diocese and also distributed Mar Ivanios Vidyanidhi  Award to the 5 Mission centers of the Syro Malankara Catholic Church. KMRM Silver Jubilee Year President Mr. Jacob Thomas represented the function from Kuwait.

The occasion was blessed with the presence of His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos, Head of the Syro Malankara Church, His Grace Rev. Dr. Thomas Mar Koorilos, Metropolitan Archbishop of Thiruvalla and His Grace Rev. Dr. Joshua Mar Ignathios, Bishop of Mavelikara Diocese and Chairman of MCA.

KMRM Silver Jubilee Closing Ceremony

The Closing Ceremony of the Silver Jubilee Celebrations of KMRM- Malankara Catholic Community was held on 13th September 2019 at Al- Nazer Indoor Stadium, Ardiya, Kuwait.His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, Head of the Malankara Catholic Church was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the function.HB gave directions on how KMRM is to move forward looking upto the development of the community.

Hon’ble Member of the Indian Embassy to Kuwait Mr. Raj Gopal Singh, Deputy Chief of Mission& Appellate Authority was the Guest of Honor. Mr. Liju Parakkel , General Secretary of KMRM welcomed the gathering.Mr. Jacob Thomas , KMRM President presided the meeting Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. John Thundiayath gave the introductory speech and. Mr. Babuji Bathery, Jubilee Celebrations General Convener gave a brief of two year Jubilee Celebrations. Mr. George Thomas, Advisory Board Chairman delivered the Special Jubilee message and Mr. Santhosh. P. Antony, Treasurer KMRM gave the Vote of Thanks. Mr. Koshy Thykadavil and Mrs. Ancy Liju were compared the function.

The presence of KMRM former Spiritual Directors Rev. Fr. George Kottapuram, Rev. Fr. John Padipurackal , Rev. Fr. Binoy Kochukarikakthil and Ecumenical Ivania Quiz Master Rev. Fr. Sheen Thankalayam was a blessing.

After the Public meeting, there was a Cultural Mega Event ‘ HRIDAYARAGAM’ - Cine Drama Fusion Program which was directed by well known Director and Social worker Mr. Babuji Bathery.

This was a continuous show of 100 minutes with 100 artists - a fusion of dance ,drama ,music ,mime enhanced with special light and sound effects based on the theme secularism.

Jubilee Thanksgiving Pontifical Mass

The Jubilee Thanksgiving Pontifical Mass was held at Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait on 12th September 2019. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cleemis Catholicos , along our Spiritual Director Rev. Fr. John Thundiayath, Former Spiritual Directors Rev. Fr. George Kottapuram, Rev. Fr. John Padipurackal, Rev. Fr. Binoy Kochukarikakthil, Ecumenical Ivania Quiz Master Rev. Fr. Sheen Thankalayam celebrated the Holy Qurbono. 15 Children of KMRM- Malankara Catholic Community received First Holy Communion that day. It was a blessed moments for the Community.

His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, Arrives in Kuwait 

The Supreme Head of the Malankara Catholic Syrian Church, His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholic Church arrived in Kuwait on Thursday,12th September 2019. His Beatitude is making his Fifth Apostolic visit to Kuwait and this time it was in conjunction with the 25th Anniversary Celebrations of KMRM- Syro Malankara Catholic Community in Kuwait .
His Beatitude was received by the Vicar General of Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia Rev. Fr. Peter. P. Mathew, OFM Cap. , KMRM President Mr. Jacob Thomas and a large number of clergy and faithful. His Beatitude was given a grand reception at Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City followed by the Jubilee Pontifical Mass. His Beatitude expressed his gratitude for the great pastoral care and concern of HE Camilo Ballin -Apostolic Vicar of Northern Arabia , also appreciated and blessed the Vicar for His dedicated and faithful service to the Church.His Beatitude stated that Syro Malankara Catholic Community should continue to maintain the discipline, faith and tradition of the Church under the dynamic leadership of KMRM Spiritual Director Rev. AKANDA BIBLE PARAYANAM

‘Akhanda Bible Parayanam ‘ was conducted in the Malankara Catholic Community in Kuwait ( KMRM) as a special intention of our Jubilee Celebrations from 8th August to 11th August 2019  at Alex Varghese residence, Abbasiya. 

Rev. Fr. Mathew Neriyatil inaugurated by reading the first chapter of Genesis . The Complete Bible was read by the Members of the Community ( KMRM) in turn and the concluding ceremony was done by Mr. K.O. John, Former President by reading the last chapter of the Book Revelation which was followed by a prayer ceremony by Fr. Mathew. All the prayer group Members,Committee members, Altar ministry members participated in the parayanam. Mr. George Thomas, Spiritual Convener and the Prayer Group Coordinators coordinated the reading .This was a good experience and blessings to the community. Mr. Liju Parakkel, General Secretary gave thanks to all gathered during the final prayer ceremony.

August 15th - Assumption of Mother Mary was specially celebrated as “Friends of Mary” day.

Blood Donation Camp by MCYM

MCYM -KMRM in connection with BDK Kuwait organised a Blood donation Camp at Jabriya Central Blood Bank on Friday 26th July 2019. Rev. Fr. Mathew Neriyatil inaugurated the camp and appreciated the initiative which is a life saving service. Over 100 people took part.

KMRM Conducted RAJATHOTSAV 2019 - Harvest Festival & Mega Carnival

As part of its Silver Jubilee Celebrations, KMRM- Malankara Catholic faithful in Kuwait hosted a Mega Socio Cultural Event – RAJATHOLSAV ( Harvest Festival & Mega Carnival) ,on Friday 26thApril 2019 at Al Jawahara Tent,Ardiya, Kuwait. The event was inaugurated by His Excellency Prof.Dr.Shamir Ally,Ambassador of the Republic of Guyana, South America to Kuwait. Rev. Fr Binoy Kochukarikkathil, the Spiritual Director of KMRM delivered the Keynote address. KMRM President Mr. Jacob Thomas presided over the meeting. Mr. Babuji Bathery, Silver Jubilee General Convener briefed on the Jubilee celebrations of KMRM. Mr. Nitesh Dey, Operational Manager -ONCOST Hyper Market,was the guest of honor . Advisory Board Chairman gave the Jubilee message. Rajathotsav ConvenerMr. Shibu. P. Cherian, Mr. Binu. K. John, Jubilee Cultural Convener, Mr. Alex Varghese-Jubilee Social & Educational Convener, Mr. Joseph .K Daniel- Jubilee Ecumenical Convener were present.Mr.Liju Parakkel, General Secretary welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Mr. Santhosh. A souvenir ,to commemorate the occasion, was released by Dr. Maryann Beebe-Ally, the First Lady of the Embassy of the Republic of Guyana.

The program began with the Adyaphala rally , a traditional showcase of the harvest festival where people walked in carrying the nature’s harvests.

The major attraction of the event was musical performance by Pooja Prem, (URF World Record & Limca Book of Record Holder) who has sang more than 800 songs in 63 different languages.

Also we had outdoor fun rides and games for children and elders. There will be lucky draws and competitions to win prizes. More of all there were variety food counters and outlets for shopping too.The day will be a reminiscence in the history of KMRM

EASTER SUNDAY SERVICE

Syro Malankara Catholic Faithful in Kuwait ( KMRM) celebrated the Easter , the life giving Resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ,on 21st April 2019 at Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City. Rev. Fr. Binoy Kochukarikkathil was the Chief Celebrant.

The Liturgy of the Resurrection begins in complete darkness. The priest takes light from the vigil light and gives it to the faithful, who are holding candles. The priest sings: "Come ye and receive light from the unwaning life, and glorify Christ, who arose from the dead," and all the people join him in singing this hymn again and again. From this moment, every Christian holds the Easter candle as a symbol of his vivid, deep faith in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ as Savior.

May we all be witnesses to the resurrection through promoting the values of our risen Lord, who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, through active involvement in the life of the church and the wider society

Good Friday Service

Syro Malankara Catholic Faithful in Kuwait ( KMRM ) celebrated the liturgy of the passion of the Lord ( Good Friday) at Carmel School, Khaitan from 9am till 4.30pm.
Good Friday is a day of fast ,prayer, self-examination and repentance so that the Grace of the Cross descends upon all.

Rev Fr Binoy Kochukarikkathil was the chief celebrant.His Lordship Bishop Camillo, Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia, blessed the Faithful and delivered a message for the Good Friday.

Holy Feast of Pasaha

Syro Malankara Catholic Faithful in Kuwait ( KMRM )Celebrated the Great and Holy Feast of Pascha at Our lady of Arabia Parish ,Ahmadi on 17th April 2019,8pm and Holy Family Cathedral, City on 18th April 2019,3.30am. This feast of feasts is the most significant day in the life of the Church.

Palm Sunday Service

The Palm Sunday service for the Syro Malankara Catholic Faithful in Kuwait (KMRM) was held on 13th April 2019, Saturday at City Cathedral. Rev. Fr. Binoy Kochukarikkathil was the Chief Celebrant.

On this day, before the Feast of Great and Holy Pascha and at the beginning of Holy Week, we celebrate one of its most joyous feasts of the year.

Palm Sunday is the commemoration of the Entrance of our Lord Jesus into Jerusalem following His glorious miracle of raising Lazarus from the dead. Having anticipated His arrival and having heard of the miracle, the people went out to meet the Lord and welcomed Him with displays of honor and shouts of praise. On this day, we receive and worship Christ in this same manner, acknowledging Him as our King and Lord.

MALANKARA VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL -BASILEIA 2019-FAITH AND LIGHT

MVBS 2019 , for the Children of KMRM (Syro Malankara Community in Kuwait) was held from April 4th to 6th at Heaven Auditorium, Abbassiya.The 3 day camp was a total enthusiasm for every kid with learning ,singing/ dancing ,games ,puzzles and activities.

Rev. Fr. Binoy Kochukarikkathil once again took his role as the camp director which he executed at his best ,with his sincere and devoted efforts for the children and a motivation to the teachers.

The theme selected was Basileia- Faith and Light. “Let your Kingdom come” taken from the Lord’s Prayer in Mathew 6:10
The camp began with the Bible dedication followed by a formal inauguration by Rev. Fr. Paul Valiyaveetil OFM Cap in the presence of KMRM officials and Catechism office bearers.

Within the time limits ,every minute was utilized to its maximum.Each day started with a prayer and worship session followed by songs and action songs.There were separate sessions of classes for the juniors and seniors which included talks from renowned speakers.Games and activities,as always,was the highlight and each had a message to convey.There was a Bible Quiz session as well.No doubt that the three days had been fruitful for every child to grow in the Faith and Light of the Kingdom of God!

Special appreciation to Mr. Santhosh George - MVBS convener,who took up the task and Malankara Catholic Faith Formation HM /Asst HM who assisted.Teachers had a great contribution and moreover enjoyed being part of the show,thanks for their efforts.Also thanking KMRM Managing Committee members , volunteers ,parents and all other well wishers.
