KMRM 19th Anniversary Celebrations

KMRM conducted 19th Anniversary and 83rd Reunion Celebrations, on Wednesday 16th
October 2013 at Carmel School, Kuwait. H.L Camillo Ballin MCCJ, bishop of
Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Arabia was the main guest.
Sri. Isac Kadakampallil (Secrtary-KMRM), made the welcome speech. KMRM Spiritual
director, Rev. Dr. John Padipurackal made the introductory speech. H.L. Bishop
Camillo Ballin give away the Benedictory Address. He emphases that being
catholic is the first, out of any other matter. The visiting priest, a well
known orator, Rev. Fr. Daniel Poovannathil made the inaugural address.
Inauguration of the function by lighting the traditional lamp “Nilavilaku” was
made by H.L. Bishop Camillo Ballin, with three priests, and other dignitaries.
Sri. O.M. Mathew (President-KMRM) made the presidential address. Rev.Fr. Albin
Varghese the visiting priest, Sri. Jacob Thomas Synodal committee member, Sri.
Rajan Mathew Advisory Board Chairman, and Sri. Georgekutty Lawrence Catechism
Headmaster made Felicitation speeches.
The event was highlighted with programs of Baladeepam, YuvaJyothi, and Friends
of Mary. Baladeepam organized a group dance, and Musical Fusion. Yuvajythi made
Tableau. Friends of Mary played Hand Mime, a special light and sound program.
The annual reports were presented, of YuvaJyothi by Sri. Lince John, Friends of
Mary by smt. Bency Jacob, and Baladeepam by Miss. Varsha Jacob. Sri. Reju
Achenkunju made monoact, and the theme adopted from Holy Bible. Sri. Jameskutty
(Treasurer-KMRM) gave the mementos, the token of Love to visiting priests. Sri.
K.O. John highlighted the efforts of different sub-committees, and people who
were behind this program through his vote of thanks. Finally, the program
concluded with prayer by three Syro Malanakra Priests.
Sri. Babuji Bathery, managed the whole event to be within the scheduled time
with his skills.
A special applause to Baladeepam, YuvaJyothi and Friends of Mary teams who
presented their respective programs on Stage.
CREDO 2013 Inaugurated, and Sessions Progressing

KMRM Vacation Bible School is conducting CREDO 2013. The CREDO 2013 is
inaugurated by Rev. Fr. Albin Varghese. KMRM Managing Committee, Liturgical
School Teachers, and Other dignitaries were present during the inauguration
session. The program will continue Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The presence
of Rev. Fr. Daniel Poovanattil also make the camp more useful. [Details Soon].

The book ADYALANGALUDE PATHAYILUDE YESUVINTE UYARPPILEKKU by Rev.Dr. John Padipurackal was published on 20 September 2013 during the Reunion Anniversary
Celebration at Mavelikara. His Beatitude Baselios Cardinal Cleemis blessed the
author and the endeavor and gave a copy His Grace Geevarghese Mar Divannasios.
He has published three books, Deivakalpanakal (Ten
Commandments); Navashasrabdathilekku (Social Teachings of the Church) and
Noorumeni (Homilies according to the Malankara Lectionary). He has contributed
articles to Theological and Philosophical Journals both in English and
Malayalam. An article on the Malankara Catholic Church is published in the New
Catholic Encyclopedia in his name. Besides he has produced a CD (Aham Smarami)
on (Late) Most Reverend Benedict Mar Gregorios, Archbishop of Trivandrum.
Fr. John Padipurackal joined the Vicariate of Kuwait on 5th
January 2011. He has been assigned to St. Daniel Comboni Parish, Jleeb Al
Shuyoukh. KMRM

Rev.
Fr Mathew Chundamannil (83) a priest of the Archieparchy of Tiruvalla of the
Syro-Malankara Catholic Church is called to eternal rest on Friday 27 September
2013. On Monday 30 September at 11 a.m. onwards the mortal remains will be at
Snehasadan, Kuttoor for public tribute and then the funeral service will begin
at 3 p.m at St. John’s Metropolitan Cathedral, Tiruvalla. His Grace Dr Thomas
Mar Koorilos, Metropolitan Archbishop of Tiruvalla will officiate the services.
Rev. Fr Mathew Chundamannil was born on 15 November 1930 as the son of Mathai
and Saramma. He was ordained priest on 21st March 1961 by Rt. Rev. James
Mendolpha at Thriruchirappally. He served as a parish priest in various
parishes: Vennikulam, Thachamam, Valankara, Ambattubagam, Valakuzhy, Maramon,
Poovathoor, Kadamankulam, Kallooppara, Thottabhagaom, Pulikeezhu and Eraviperoor.

The Malankara Catholic Faithful in Kuwait observed the 60th
Ormaperunal of Servant of God, Arcbishop Mar Ivanios on Thursday, 11 July
2013 in the Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait. After Evening Prayer in the Grotto of
Mary, Mother of God, the Theerthadana Padayathra lead by Yuvajyothi (KMRM)
proceeded to the Holy Family Hall, the venue of the celebration of the Holy
Qurbono. Carrying Vallikurisu and wearing Kavi colour dress gave the
participants the experience of traditional Theerthadana Padayathra in Kerala.
Very Reverend Fr. Mathews Kunnelpurayidom OCD, Vicar General, addressed the
Faithful and reminded them of their duties in the present age. He exhorted the
Faithful that as mark of their reverence to Archbishop Mar Ivanios, the Founder
of Reunion Movement in the Malankara, they have to continue his life-mission
with renewed vigour. Hundreds of faithful attended the Holy Qurbono and
Dhoopaprarthana with devotion. The service which began at 6.45 pm ended with
Nerchvilampu at 9.30 pm.
Reverend Fr. John Padipurackal thanked the Yuvajyothi (KMRM
Youth wing) members in the name of the Community for their efforts to make the
Mar Ivanios Day celebration memorable.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Jesus Christ,
Charity is broadly defined as generosity and
helpfulness especially towards the needy and suffering, or in simple the aid
given to poor. In its widest and highest sense, charity includes love of God as
well as love of man. As a virtue, charity is that habit or power which disposes
us to love God above all creatures for Himself, and to love ourselves and our
fellow beings for the sake of God.
Malankara Catholic community in Kuwait through
the channel of KMRM follows the Tradition of the Malankara Church through
spiritual, social, charitable and cultural activities. Among that the most
important is the “DHARMA OF CHARITY”. We are inspired by our faith for a process
of self evaluation and commit ourselves more earnestly to uplift the
marginalized or the poor and downtrodden in our society and to strengthen them
in every way possible.
SANTHWANA Charity Program is one of the core
annual programs of KMRM which provides assistance to people who are in need,
irrespective of caste and creed. We intend to transform lives of these people
through programs such as Emergency Assistance, Assistance for Education, Medical
Assistance and Social Assistance. So far we have provided charity assistance of
over INR 1.85 Crores under the heads of “MANGALYA SANTHWANA, PARPIDA SANTHWANA,
KARUNYA SANTHWANA & KALALAYA SANTHWANA”. The success of our entire program is
not only the good intention of the charity programs but also the transparency
with which we have implemented in all the previous year’s Charity Projects of
SANTHWANA.
KALALAYA SANTHWANA is the charity program
planning for the year 2013 through which we intend to give aid for professional
education focused mainly on nursing studies, in all the Dioceses of the
Malankara Church and a special project for the primary education needs for the
Dalit & Nadar Students in the Diocese of Marthandom. These projects seem to be
to a great extent feasible and attainable within our capacity.
Fund for the above project shall be raised
through voluntary donations and we would like to have your prayers and generous
support to make this year’s charity program a great success.
The Planning session for the meet of the Syro-Malankara catholic faithful in the
Gulf Region to be held on 15 & 16 July 2014 in Trivandrum, Kerala, India.
The planning session took place on 11th June 2013 in Dubai.

Malankara Catholic Priest in Muscat, Reverend Fr. ANTONY PLAMPARAMPIL, belonging
to the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, took charge as the Chaplain of the
Malnkara Catholic Faithful in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Born on 7th May 1971,
Fr. Antony is from the St. Mary's Malankara Catholic Church, Panchamoodu in the
Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. He studied philosophy and theology in St.
Mary's Malankara Seminary, Trivandrum and was ordained on 26th December 2000. He
has served in the Churches at R. Perunadu and Thumpamon (Pathanamthitta Diocese)
Edamon, Chepra, Manjakala, and Cheruvarakonam (Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum).
His feast is on June 13 (St. Antony of Padua).

A talk on Faith and Formation was given bu Mr. Biju Antony, a
well known leader of the Jesus Youth movement in Kuwait. A short video film on
Archbishop Mar Ivanios, the Founder of Reunion Movement in Malankara, was
presented to bring his revered memory to the mind of the young people. A group
discussion and its presentation made the young people very active enabled them
to share their ideas about future activities. The program which began at 10.30
am with prayer and ended at 2 pm with Dhoopararthana and blessing. Rev. Dr. John
Padipurackal, Spiritual Director and Mr. O. M. Mathew, President, KMRM gave
felicitation addresses. Mr. Isac Kadakampalli, Secretary, KMRM presented a
memento to Mr. Biju Antony in the name of the gathering.
The Yuvajyothi team lead by Lince John (Joint Convenor), Jino K.
Abraham, Jobin Thomas, Byju Kurian, Benoy Abraham, Jimmy Abraham, Aji
Varghese, and Anil George Rajan made all the arrangements for the coming
together of the hundred young people scattered over the various parts of Kuwait.

Rt.
Rev. Joshua Peedikayil Corepiscopa a priest of the Major Archdiocese of
Trivandrum of the Syro-Malankara Catholic Church is called to eternal reward on
25 June 2013. He was 76 years old. The faithful can pay homage to the body which
will be brought to Peedika house at Puthenpeedika, Pathanamthitta on 27 June
2013.
The burial service will begin at 1.30 pm at home and then the body will be
brought to St.Thomas Malankara Catholic Church, Puthenpeedika. The final part of
the burial service will begin at 3 pm. His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal
Cleemis Catholicos will officiate the services.
Rt. Rev. Corepiscopa was born on 31 March 1939 as the son of Rev. Fr.
Geevarghese Peedikayil and Mariamma Vattasseril. He was ordained priest on 19
March 1964 after the priestly formation in St. Aloysius Seminary and St.
Joseph’s Seminary, Aluva. He rendered his service as the administrator of the
Ecumenical Trust Nilakkel. Also he served as a parish priest of 47 parishes.

Charity is broadly defined as generosity and
helpfulness especially towards the needy and suffering, or in simple the aid
given to poor. In its widest and highest sense, charity includes love of God as
well as love of man. As a virtue, charity is that habit or power which disposes
us to love God above all creatures for Himself, and to love ourselves and our
fellow beings for the sake of God.
Malankara Catholic community in Kuwait through
the channel of KMRM follows the Tradition of the Malankara Church through
spiritual, social, charitable and cultural activities. Among that the most
important is the “DHARMA OF CHARITY”. We are inspired by our faith for a process
of self evaluation and commit ourselves more earnestly to uplift the
marginalized or the poor and downtrodden in our society and to strengthen them
in every way possible.
SANTHWANA Charity Program is one of the core
annual programs of KMRM which provides assistance to people who are in need,
irrespective of caste and creed. We intend to transform lives of these people
through programs such as Emergency Assistance, Assistance for Education, Medical
Assistance and Social Assistance. So far we have provided charity assistance of
over INR 1.85 Crores under the heads of “MANGALYA SANTHWANA, PARPIDA SANTHWANA,
KARUNYA SANTHWANA & KALALAYA SANTHWANA”. The success of our entire program is
not only the good intention of the charity programs but also the transparency
with which we have implemented in all the previous year’s Charity Projects of
SANTHWANA.
KALALAYA SANTHWANA is the charity program
planning for the year 2013 through which we intend to give aid for professional
education focused mainly on nursing studies, in all the Dioceses of the
Malankara Church and a special project for the primary education needs for the
Dalit & Nadar Students in the Diocese of Marthandom. These projects seem to be
to a great extent feasible and attainable within our capacity.
Fund for the above project shall be raised
through voluntary donations and we would like to have your prayers and generous
support to make this year’s charity program a great success.

Church Anchal. He served as Principal of St. Jude College, Thuthoor,

Jacob Thiruvalil has done his Doctoral Defense successfully on the subject

The 18th Annual Family gathering & Christmas New year celebrations of KMRM held
at the Indian Central School Abbassiya, Kuwait on January 18th, 2013 was unique
due to the well organized arrangement and the participation of over 750 family
members.
The honored presence and blessings of His Grace Petar Rajic - Apostolic Nuncio
Kuwait and Rev. Fr. Mathew Kunnelpurayidam the Vicar General of Kuwait Vicariate
enhanced the environment to its maximum extend. Advocate Shibu Jacob – General

speech by Rev. Dr. John Padipurackal – Spiritual Director. Presidential address

occasion His Grace Petar Rajic presented a memento to Rev. Fr. Mathew
Kunnelpurayidam who is celebrating his 40th Anniversary of his priesthood. KMRM
bid farewell to Mr David Yohannan & Family (Mar Ivanios Prayer Group-Salmiya),
Mr Sajan Mathew & Mr George Mathew (Mary Matha Prayer Group - Fahaheel). A
memento was presented to them by Rev. Dr. John Padipurackal in admiration for
the unwavering dedication and support for the growth of Malankara community in
Kuwait. On the occasion KMRM honored all the former Presidents for their
unlimited continues services extending to KMRM, Mr. Isac Kadakampalli -
Secretary delivered Vote of thanks to all gathered.
The highlight of the get together were the various cultural programs like carol
song, Tableau, Group Dance etc. organized by the various prayer groups.
• Christmas corner was a total different experience at this time. St.
Thomas Prayer group won the first prize, Shalom, and Mary Matha prayer groups
won the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
• Christmas carol songs by seven prayer groups were a memorable experience.
Shalom prayer group received
the first prize. St. Thomas prayer group received the second prize and St.
Mary’s prayer group received the third prize.
• The main attraction of this year family get-together was the Tableau. St.
Johns, St. Mary’s, Shalom, St. Thomas, and Mary Matha prayer groups
presented Tableau. St. Mary’s won the first prize, St. Johns and Mary Matha
prayer groups won second and third prizes respectively.
• Amazing performance of the KMRM juniors performing various cultural
programs was another major highlight of the event.
All family members were able to actively participate in these events. A dinner
was also arranged. Master Bibin Sam Thomas – Baladeepam Joint Convener & Kumari
Likhita Paul -compared the meeting and Mr. Babuji Bathery – Program Convener
deserves applause, as he organized the complete program in an efficient way. The
reception convener Mr. George Thomas and the food convener Mr. Jacob Varghese (Benoy)
deserve full appreciation, as they effectively executed their responsibilities.
Bottom line is that the full credit goes to all our family members for the grand
success of the 2013 KMRM Family get-together.

Rev. Fr. Andrews Melel OIC, a member of Bethany Navajyothy Province of the Order
of the Imitation of Christ, was called to eternal reward on 8 January 2013. He
was 89 years old. He rendered his service as Secretary General of the
Congregation. Also he served as Parish Priest of several parishes such as
Kallissery, Ampoori, Mayam, Nedumangad, Mundela, Paruthikuzhi, Kulappada,
Velloorkonam, Irumpa and Kozhiyode. He served in Joliet and Tyler Dioceses in
America from 1967-2002. The funeral ceremony will be held at Bethany Ashram,
Tiruvalla at 2 p.m. on Wednesday 09 January 2013. His Grace Most Rev. Thomas Mar
Koorilos will officiate the funeral ceremony.

Fr. Geevarghese Perumala a senior priest of the Eparchy of Pathanamthitta of the
Syro-Malankara Catholic Church, was called to eternal rest on 31 December 2012.
He was 72 years old. He is a member of Chandanappally-Angadical Parish. He was
ordained priest on 3 December 1966. He served as parish priest in various
parishes such as Marthandom, Balaramapuram, Manjumala, Kollam, Kizhakketheruvu,
Puthoor, Vandanoor, Puliyoor, Koodal, and Vallikode. He was the Finance Officer
of the undivided Archieparchy of Thiruvananthapuram from 1973 to 1981. He served
as the Director of Catechisam of the Archieparchy of Thiruvananthapuram from
1988 to 1992. The funeral ceremony will be held at St. Mary’s Malankara Catholic
Church, Angadical at 3 p.m. on Friday 4 January 2013. His Beatitude Moran Mor
Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos will officiate the funeral ceremony.

KMRM Programme schedule for the year 2012-2013 was
officially inaugurated on Thursday 29th November 2012, after the
holly mass at Holy Family Cathedral, Kuwait City. Rev. Dr. John Padipurckal,
Spiritual Director lit the traditional NILAVILAKU, as the symbolic inauguration
of the programme. The president O.M. Mathew,
Advisory Board Chairman Rajan Mathew, YuvaJyothi
Convener Jacob Thomas, Catechism Headmaster
Georgekutty Lawrence, Friends of Mary convener Sophy
Rajan, and Baladeepam Convener Varsha Elsa Jacob
also take part in lighting the traditional
NILAVILAKU. KMRM Secretary gave the programme
schedule to Rev.Dr. John Padipurackal , and the
father released the same and handed over to Aji
Philip, Joint Secretary of KMRM. The programme schedule will be distributed
by the committee members.
The KMRM Spiritual Director Rev.Dr. John Padipurackal
released the Yuvajyothi calendar for the year 2013. Jobin Babu handed over the calendar to Rev. Dr. John Padipurackal,
and the father released the same and handed it over to Jobin, the
circulation manager in the presence of the KMRM President O.M. Mathew, and
the Secretary Issac Kadakampalli. SWEET of SANTA programme of YuvaJyothi also

KMRM New Managing Committee 2012-13 - Oath Taking Ceremony

The newly elected Managing committee, and Advisory Board
took the oath on Thursday 15th November 2012 after the Holy Mass
being celebrated by Rev. Dr. John Padipurackal. In the oath function, the committee members committed themselves to the Kuwait
Diocese, Malankara Catholic Hierarchy and the Kuwait
Malankara Rite Movement.
After the
Oath the Rajan Mathew (Ex-Joint Secretary) handed over the
documents to Sri. Issac Kadakampalli (New Secretary), as the
symbolic representation of handing over the responsibility
to the new Managing Committee. Sri. Thomas Chacko
(Ex-Treasurer) handed over the accounts to Sri. Jameskutty

Malankara Catholic Priest in Muscat, Reverend Fr. ANTONY PLAMPARAMPIL, belonging
to the Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum, took charge as the Chaplain of the
Malnkara Catholic Faithful in Muscat, Sultanate of Oman. Born on 7th May 1971,
Fr. Antony is from the St. Mary's Malankara Catholic Church, Panchamoodu in the
Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum. He studied philosophy and theology in St.
Mary's Malankara Seminary, Trivandrum and was ordained on 26th December 2000. He
has served in the Churches at R. Perunadu and Thumpamon (Pathanamthitta Diocese)
Edamon, Chepra, Manjakala, and Cheruvarakonam (Major Archdiocese of Trivandrum).
His feast is on June 13 (St. Antony of Padua).
The
Holy Qurbono on 4th July 2013 will be celebrated in commemoration of the
Martyrdom of St. Thomas, Dukhrono. 
Reverend Fr. Lawrence Thuruthiyil OIC (88), elder brother of Rt. Rev. Mathews
Thuruthiyil Remban, died on Thursday 27th June 2013. His funeral will will be at
02.00 pm on Saturday 28th June in the Bethany Ashram, Nalanchira, Trivandrum.

Rev. Joshua Peedikayil Corepiscopa a priest of the Major Archdiocese of
